Overview
Through a UX Design certification program with two top industry experts, I was able to gain expertise in the rapidly evolving field of user experience design.
Background
Due to a website being converted into an app, there is too much information all at once, and not organized as it should be. This creates a lack of functionality, usability and causes important information to be hidden.
Challenge
How do we make our app user friendly? How can we as a company stand out against our competitors? How can this app be tailored to users with different preferences? Users are interested in filling their days with fun activities, that are structured around being active. However, some users are looking for a community and to meet new people of a certain demographic while others are merely looking to play a competitive game.
Result
League selection feature: Users will be allowed to use filters, sort functions, favorite functions, search feature, map features and skillset guides to help better inform and narrow down their search so they are less stressed and overwhelmed when signing up for a league.
Event calendar: Users will be given list views and calendar views of their next games. This helps users stay organized and on top of their schedules, especially if you are a user in multiple different leagues.
Personalized experience through the user profile: Users will be allowed to create profiles including that would help provide personalized recommendations. While some profile completions are long and tedious, this process is short and sweet. Upon completion, users will be rewarded with a personalized home screen with events and leagues tailored to them, making the search for new league a lot easier
